About me
Pastor Samuel Mathen was born and raised in a Marthomite family in Pathanapuram, Kerala, India. At a young age, he came to New Delhi where he started to attend the Church of God in Hauz Khas, New Delhi. This is where at the age of twenty he came to know and accept Jesus as his personal Saviour. Soon after he took water baptism and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. God opened a way for him to come to Toronto in May of 1987, where he started his theological studies later graduating with a Bachelor of Theology from Canada Christian College. In 1992, he became an ordained pastor and has since been an active member of the Evangelical Association of Canada.
From the year 1995, he was ministering as a pastor of Maranatha Full Gospel Church. During this time in 2010, he was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent treatment for two years. By the grace of God and through the prayers and support of God’s people, he was strengthened and healed completely of his illness. To God be the Glory! He has been able to see God’s mighty power, steadfast love, undeserved grace and mercy at work in his own life. It’s his prayer and desire to see others encounter the same and to lead and encourage them to live for God and His Kingdom.
Pastor Samuel Mathen is currently serving as the senior pastor of Kerala Pentecostal Church Toronto (formerly Maranatha Full Gospel Church Toronto), alongside his wife Betty Susan Samuel and their three children – Joyce, Joshua and Jemi.
