What We Believe

Kerala Pentecostal Church Toronto believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired, and that it is the written Word of God. KPC Toronto has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

We Believe:

1. The Scripture Inspired
The Bible is the inspired word of God, revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct. 2Timothy 3:15-17; 2Peter 1:20-21; 3:2; Revelation 22:18; Matthew 24:35; Psalms 119:89; 139:16; 1Peter 1:25; Isaiah 34:16; 51:16; Jeremiah 5:14.

2. The One True God
(a) The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent. “I AM”(Exodus 3:14). In one God eternally existing in three persons: namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, who are united to form one, triune God. Genesis 1:26; 17:1; Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4; 32:39; Mark 12:29,32; Isaiah 9:6; 41:4; 43:10-11; 44:6; 45:5,18,21,22; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; Romans 3:30; 1Corinthians 8:4-6; 2Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:6; 1John 5:7; 2 Samuel 7:22; Psalms 83:18; 86:10; John 14:26; 17:3,21-23; 1Timothy 2:5; 1Samuel 2:2; Exodus 3:14; 33:20; John 4:24.

(b) Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead; that He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor; Christ Jesus is the Almighty God. John 1:10-18; 3:16; Luke 1:30-35; 23:46,52-54; Mark 15:27,28; 16:19; Matthew 1:18-22; 28:5-7; Acts 4:10; 7:55, 56; Hebrews 1:6,8; 4:14; 7:25-26; 8:1; 10:22; Revelation 1:18; 4:8; 1Timothy 2:5; 3:16; Isaiah 7:14; Romans 6:9; 8:34; Ephesians 1:20-23; Philippians 2:6-11; 1Peter 3:18; Colossians 1:15-20.

3. Man, His Fall and Redemption
Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” But man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. Genesis 1:26-27; Psalms 8:4,5; Romans 3:23-24; 8; 23; Acts 2;38; 1Corinthians 1:30; Galatians 3:13; Ephesians 1:7,14; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:15; 1Peter 1:18; Titus 2:14.

4. Repentance Toward God
That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins. Repentance is a Godly sorrow for sin with a renunciation of sin. Acts 2:38; 3:19; 8:22; 17:30; 20:21; 26:20; 2Corinthians 7:10-11; Mark 1:15; Isaiah 55:7; 2Chronicles 7:14; Luke 13:3; 24:47; Ezekiel 18:30-32; Matthew 3:2; Ezra 10:11; Psalms 32:5; Joel 2:12; 1John 1:9; Proverbs 28:13.

5. Restitution
The Bible teaches that the wrongs against our fellowman for which we can make must be righted. We must have a conscience void of offence toward God and man. Restitution includes restoring where you have defrauded, stolen, or slandered, paying back debts, and making confession. Leviticus 6:4,5; Ezekiel 33:15; Luke 19:8,9; Revelation 2:5; 3:3,19; 1John 1:9; Proverbs 28:13; Ezra 10:11.

6. Justification & Born again (Regeneration)
That justification regeneration and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Justification is the act of God’s grace whereby we receive remission of sins and stand before God as though we had never sinned. Acts 13:39; Romans 3:24-28; 5:1; 1Corinthians 6:11; 2Corinthians 5:17-21; Galatians 3:24; John 1:12-13; 3:3,14-16; Titus 3:5-7; James 1:18; 1Peter 1:3-5,18-23; 1John 2:29; 3:9; 4:7; 5:1; Philippians 3:9; Ezekiel 36:26.

7. Entire Sanctification (Holiness)
Entire sanctification is the act of God’s grace by which we are made holy. In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost. John 17:15-19; 1Thessalonians 4:3,7; 5:23; Hebrews 10:10,14; 12:14; 13:12; 1John 1:7; Luke 1:74,75; 2Corinthians 7:1; 6:11; 1Peter 1:15,16; Ephesians 5:26,27; Mark 16:15,16; 2Timothy 2:21; 2Thessalonians 2:13; 1Corinthians 6:11; 1Timothy 4:5; Acts 15:8, 9.

8. Water Baptism
Those who are redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ should obey the council of God in water baptism. It shall be administrated to all those who give clear evidence of their new birth. Baptism is immersion “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost,” as Jesus commanded. Matthew 3:15,16; 28:19; Acts 2:38; 8:35-38; 22:16; Romans 6:3-5; Luke 7:30; Colossians 2:12; John 3:23; Galatians 3:27; Mark 16:15,16; 1Peter 3:21; Ephesians 4:5.
